The Vision

To see individuals and families healed and in a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.

JOHN 3:17 is a 501(c)3 faith-based, Christian Recovery Center: a safe, nurturing environment for women who have made a commitment to overcome addiction(s), make positive lifestyle changes, develop spirituality, improve parenting skills and become productive members of society.

Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

“No one, sir,” she said.

“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” John 8:10-11

Our Program

JOHN 3:17 is located in a rural setting on property owned by the Remmel Church. Residents will have the opportunity to attend all meetings of the Remmel Church, where they will be welcomed and accepted as part of the family.

JOHN 3:17 is committed to helping each resident understand and reach her full potential. This is done in a nurturing environment that provides family support, open and honest communication, and recognition of individuality. Proper supervision and enforced boundaries also help in the process of restoring health and happiness.

Community-based

JOHN 3:17 is not just a recovery center; it’s a family. The residents maintain a sense of community and belonging by helping with household chores and grounds keeping. This provides teaching opportunities and helps build positive relationships. Each resident is expected to work in the community as opportunities arise.

As the name suggests, JOHN 3:17 is faith-based, with an emphasis on Christ as Deliverer. As each resident grows in a relationship with God, she will learn to live by His standards, thus developing healthier relationships with others.

Residents are taught through a mentoring relationship with a Christian woman who resides at the JOHN 3:17 home and with other Christian women who volunteer their time. There is also guided Bible study, GED classes and training in parenting and life skills.
